The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation Relaunches the www.cifo.org Website, Unveiling the First of Its Kind CIFO Art Community

THE CISNEROS FONTANALS ART FOUNDATION RELAUNCHES THE WWW.CIFO.ORG WEBSITE, UNVEILING THE FIRST OF ITS KIND CIFO ART COMMUNITY

Miami, March  2011 – The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO) is proud to announce the redesign of the www.cifo.org website. The new website includes new features and functions that allow CIFO to fulfill its mission of promoting art from Latin America on a global scale.

The  CIFO Art Community, a first of its kind interactive online community, is a meeting place for all who have an interest in contemporary art from Latin America.  The CIFO Art Community is the foundation’s most recent and ambitious endeavor in fullfiling its mission. This interactive and dynamic community  links artists, curators, institutions, and the general public through personalized profiles, blogs, forums, and galleries.

At the core of the CIFO Art Community are all artists and curators that have worked closely with the foundation by way of its Grants and Commissions program.  All the members of CIFO’s Honorary Advisory Committee and every artist that has been nominated for a CIFO grant since the program’s inception in 2006 has been invited to create a profile and are founding members of the CIFO Art Community.  Within the Community exists the Museum & Curator Network, an online interactive community where curators, art professionals and museums can join the artists in the CIFO Art Community to initiate dialogue, expand research and enrich programs and initiatives worldwide.

The general public and users accessing CIFO’s site are just as an integral part of the CIFO Art Community. Their participation, involvement and feedback is what drives this dynamic network of artists, curators, institutions and art enthusiasts from around the globe and will make this community an invaluable resource.

Another one of the website’s key new features is Fund-A-Project. Artists, curators and art institutions  within the CIFO Art Community are able to post specific projects for funding through the Fund-A-Project portal. Members of this network can request funds for their  project throughout a limited time in order to receive support from outside sources such as institutions, friends and the general public. CIFO will also be posting foundation initiated programs up  for funding. CIFO invites the global art community to join them and make this a collective effort to support creativity around the globe.

“The foundation has assisted over 50 artists from all over Latin America in the production of new work and we continue to select 7-10 emerging and mid career artists as recipients of our annual grants. Fund-A-Project is CIFO’s newest initiative in furthering the foundation’s mission to promote contemporary art from Latin America,” states Ella Fontanals-Cisneros. “ In order to continue to provide this same assistance, but on a much broader scale, CIFO is launching this new online program.”

The new website also features an Interact section which includes the CIFO Blog in addition to social media functions allowing CIFO’s audience to stay connected at all times.
