Film Screening: Festival in the Desert
A remarkable concert experience captured on film. Five hours outside Timbuktu, in the Sahara Desert, Director Lionel Brouet recorded performances and interviews by Robert Plant, Ali Farka Toure, Tinariwen, Oumou Sangara, LoJo and others. Toureg tribesman, Malian blues, North African rhythms all come together in the most exotic and unlikely event.

Jorge Villamizar Concert
After twelve years as lead singer for Bacilos, Jorge Villamizar is releasing his long solo album, produced by the English DJ/Engineer Richard Blair, aka Sidestepper. This new work by Villamizar is the perfect mix of electronic music, Jorge's famous voice and style and Latin beats.
Presented with the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (LARAS). Event open to Rhythm Foundation members and CIFO guests.

Film Screening: Moro No Brasil
A musical road trip by Finnish Director Mika Kaurismaki, journeying deep into the heart of Brazil. Stopovers in Pernambuco, Bahia, Rio de Janeiro, take the film into the roots and then far beyond samba and bossa nova. Footage includes carnival and capoeira as well as performances by Seu Jorge, Margareth Menezes, Ivo Meirelles, and many more.

Six Degrees Night Featuring DJ Gaudi and Jef Stott
London-based Italian-born DJ Gaudi's music, an organic fusion of dub, electronica and worldbeat, has been a chart-topping artist in the UK and a well-known producer and remixer for some of the most important names in music: Bob Marley, Simple Minds, Fatboy Slim, Scissor Sisters, Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn, 1 Giant Leap, Lamb, Ojos de Brujo, The Orb and many more. Jef Stott's performance, specifically designed for this event, will be a moody Middle Eastern piece with dub elements.
