Mid-Career Artist Award
Adán Vallecillo (b. 1977) studied Fine Arts and Sociology in Honduras and Puerto Rico. The methodology of his practice is strongly based on field researches. From a socio-aesthetic approach, Vallecillo reveals a variety of strategies to enhance and redefine the materials, actions and objects used for his projects.
He has participated in International biennials such as: FEMSA, Mexico (2020); Cuenca Biennial, Ecuador (2016); San Juan Poly/Graphic Triennial, San Juan, Puerto Rico (2015); Mercosur Biennial, Porto Alegre, Brazil (2015); Bienal de Montevideo, Uruguay (2014); 7th Curitiba Biennial, Brazil (2013); 54th Venice Biennale, Italy (2011), among others.
