Manuel E. González

Manuel E. González is an independent curator based in Miami, Florida. Early in his career, he was named Director of the legendary Sidney Janis Gallery and then of the Holly Solomon Gallery, both in New York.

Mr. Gonzalez was subsequently named Global Art Executive at JPMorganChase, heading its Private Bank art advisory services as well as acting as artistic director of the JPMorganChase Collection. Instrumental in the founding of Miami Art Central (MAC) a non-profit contemporary art space in Miami, Florida, Mr. Gonzalez curated MAC's inaugural exhibition Ten Floridians.

In 2006 he was named curator of the Ellipse Foundation, Portugal. Mr. Gonzalez continues to serve on numerous boards of trustees including The New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York , the Cintas Foundation and the Wolfsonian-FIU in Miami Beach. In 2002 he received the first Zenith Downtown Art Projects Leadership Award, recognizing his lifetime achievement in the arts.
