Jaime Gili

Jaime Gili is a Venezuelan abstract artist. Since 2002, his work has been contextualized as continuing a tradition of Latin American abstract art, especially of Venezuelan optical and kinetic artists, such as Carlos Cruz Diez and Alejandro Otero. Apart from exhibitions, most of which take place in London, Caracas, and Miami, Gili has also been invited to make several permanent works that integrated into architecture, one of which is one of the world’s largest public art projects: a site-specific design for 16 large industrial storage tanks covering 260,000 sq ft. The work, entitled "Art All Around," was produced by Maine Center for Creativity and the site is located along the Fore River in South Portland, Maine. He has been based in London since 1996.
