Miguel Angel López

Miguel Angel López is a Peruvian writer, curator, researcher and artist whose work investigates the dynamics and transformations in comprehending Latin American politics in recent decades. From 2006-2008, López was a part of the artist-run space and collective, Espacio La Culpable, in Lima. He has written about various subjects from a Southern perspective, such as deviant practices, gender dissidence and queer re-articulations of history. His latest book and exhibition at the Lima Art Museum (2013) was centered on the drag performances and representations by Peruvian-German artist Sergio Zevallos amidst the 1980s conflict between communist subversive groups and the Peruvian Government.
