CIFO TALK

March 22, 2018, Miami, Florida

Writer and curator Adriana Herrera will be in conversation with Triángulo curators Elsa Vega and Ella Fontanals-Cisneros, discussing three key figures in the unfolding of Cuban abstract art: Loló Soldevilla, Sandu Darie and Carmen Herrera.

Additionally, this in-depth look at Triángulo will allow for further discussions in the wider context of Cuban contemporary art.

The 1950s were the main stage for the organic entry of Cuban art into abstractionism. Both the break with figurative tradition and the strength of the language of abstraction as an effective formula for the communication of ideas validated the transcendence of this movement for all of Cuban painting.
