Ella Fontanals–Cisneros and CIFO Collections

December 5, 2012 - March 4, 2013

Selections from the Ella Fontanals-Cisneros and CIFO Collections will be on view from December 5 to March 3, 2013. The exhibition features approximately 38 works by 24 artists from diverse generations and regions, all of whom are committed to promoting and transforming art practices.

Curators Moacir dos Anjos and José Roca describe the exhibition as a testament to the tension between unspoken words and the aftermath of communication—when everything has been said and done. It explores themes of silenced speech, hesitant expressions, unintelligible languages, forgotten codes, and the obscured discourse of science, censorship, and repression, gradually transitioning into murmurs, connections, open dialogues, and definitive statements.
